Christmas will be here very soon. It can be easy to buy everything on one day with online shopping.
If you live far from the recipient it can be a challenge. You cannot be in tune to the wants and desires of someone that lives far away unless they tell you what they want.
How can our purchase for a friend or loved one really make a difference?
What are the activities that bring them joy or a sense of accomplishment?
Did a family member purchase a house that needs a lot of work? I have given a wheelbarrow and a trash can as a gift to someone that had none.
Listen to what they are doing in their free time.
Maybe that friend would love to go to a concert but it’s not in their budget?
If expensive gifts are not in your budget, use your talents to give a gift. Make your own gift certificate. Offer your time to help them with a project around the house. If you love to cook but they don’t, prepare some meals that are easy to reheat. If you own a business offer some ‘free services’.
Sometimes the best gifts are not presents but your presence especially if you do not get to see your family a lot. Gifts from the heart.
May you and your family have a wonderful holiday season!
